Kijal

(top photo : Lemang, is glutinous rice cooked with coconut milk in a hollow bamboo, under an open fire. Lemang serve with rendang or beef floss during the celebration such as Aidifitri. Kampung Bukit Anak Dara, Kijal, about 15km from Chukai town is famous for Lemang. The delicacy is prepared and sold on both sides of the Kemaman-Dungun main road.)

Kijal is another small and quite fishing village long ago before the surrounding areas was mushrooming with oilfield and tourism spots. It is located in the north of Kemaman. Today, other than the traditional fishing activities, Kijal is better known as a vacation place with its mile long beaches with coconut trees and pine trees align along beach waving in the breeze from the South China Sea.
